Parking at Accademia Gallery

Located in the center of Florence, parking at Accademia Gallery can be challenging as there are no parking facilities available onsite.

The city’s center is a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), where you need special permits to enter, or hefty fines apply.

We recommend avoiding driving near the center altogether. Instead, you can consider parking near Galleria dell’Accademia in one of the many car parks surrounding the historic center.

These parking lots are located under landmarks like the train station of Santa Maria Novella, Piazza Beccaria, Piazza della Libertà, and Fortezza da Basso, among others.

Rates typically range from €1 to €3 per hour, with daily rates of around €20.

Walking from these lots to the city center usually takes 10 to 15 minutes, or you can catch a bus from certain locations.

Free parking in Florence Italy is scarce, with options mainly available further from the city center.

Piazzale Michelangelo used to provide free parking, but since February 2016, it has been a pedestrian-only zone with paid parking spots.

Parking lots outside the center typically charge €1 for the first hour and €2 for each additional hour until midnight.

Another option is the private garages inside the city center that offer convenience at higher costs, approximately €25 to €30 per day.

Get your Accademia Gallery entry tickets in advance to skip lines at the entry and head straight to the stunning Statue of David by Michelangelo.

You can use residential areas outside the main historical center for street parking near the Galleria Accademia in Florence.

Be sure to park in blue spaces and pay at nearby meters between 8 am and 8 pm, except on public holidays.

Parking rates are typically €2 for the first hour and €3 for each additional hour.

There is street parking along Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia, which is a ten-minute walk to the Santa Croce/Uffizi area.

Small parking spaces are available at Piazzale Michelangelo, along Via dei Bastioni, a one-way street from Viale Michelangelo and Porta San Frediano, close to the ZTL entrance.

You can also find parking at the ring road that surrounds the historical center (viali di circonvalazione) as well as near Torre della Zecca, Lungarno del Tempio, Lungarno Cellini and Lungarno Ferrucci

Be sure to plan ahead, consider walking distances when choosing a parking spot, and be cautious of restricted zones (ZTL areas) to avoid fines.
